The AGBIC contest is supposed to wrap up this weekend (although a one-week extension is sounding likely). I won’t be able to put much more time in between now and then, so I’m calling it complete. I’m very happy with my progress over the last month on this. Download Here.

MADRIS Demo Now Available

There’s a great competition running on TIGSource.com. It’s themed around building games that are inspired by fake-game coverart. MADRIS is the title of Sugar Pill Studios submission for this contest. It’s like tetris with rooms instead of tetraminos, and the rooms need to be connected via doorways to allow little sims passage to particular rooms. The contest runs until the end of the month, but the first playable demo of MADRIS was made public today. Details along with the download can be found here.

It’s fun to see word spread about Spell Find. GameSetWatch was quick to post a very positive review, “For those of you doubting the idea of someone actually finding a word search puzzle exciting, well, that’s because you’ve never seen one presented as a real-time strategy game.” GayGamer calls Spell find “one of the most unique game designs to come out of the Xbox indie channel.” Thanks also to XNPlay and BYOND for their coverage, and ScrewAttack, XBLIG.co.uk, and XBLARatings for posting news of the release.

We are proud to announce that we are now playtesting Spell Find (437). Spell Find combines the challenge of a word find with the excitement of fantasy combat. Find the word ARCHER to summon one to your aid, INFECT to poison your opponent’s minions, or FREEZE to temporarily disable their controls. Here’s a video to wet your appetite while you await Spell Find’s release on XBLIG and a browser near you.

Word Find + RTS

Our next release is a Word Find + RTS hybrid game for XBLIG. In this game, players search for the names of fantasy units and spells in order to deploy them against their opponent. Find and click on the names of all nine available units in the puzzle below, and the remaining letters will spell out the name of this increasingly anticipated release.
